Common Pests in Tempe Town Lake

Tempe's desert climate and proximity to undeveloped land creates year-round pest pressure for Tempe Town Lake residents. Bark scorpions are the primary concern — they're venomous and common throughout Pinal and Maricopa counties. Regular professional treatment is the most reliable way to keep your home protected.

Local Pest Facts

• Tempe Town Lake's waterfront creates persistent moisture that sustains large cockroach and mosquito populations — both of which attract bark scorpions hunting for prey in adjacent residential and mixed-use buildings.
• High-density urban development around the lake means pests can migrate easily between units and buildings — professional treatment of common areas and individual units is the most effective approach.
• Bark scorpions are active throughout the Tempe Town Lake area, particularly in landscaped common areas, parking structures, and ground-floor units adjacent to the lake's riparian vegetation.
