Common Pests in Sunland Village

Mesa's desert climate and proximity to undeveloped land creates year-round pest pressure for Sunland Village residents. Bark scorpions are the primary concern — they're venomous and common throughout Pinal and Maricopa counties. Regular professional treatment is the most reliable way to keep your home protected.

Local Pest Facts

• Sunland Village's golf courses and water features create moisture-rich habitat that attracts mosquitoes, roof rats, and the insects bark scorpions feed on — sustaining pest populations throughout the year.
• The community's mature trees — many decades old — provide extensive roof rat travel corridors and harborage for bark scorpions and black widows throughout the neighborhood.
• Sunland Village's older construction (many homes built in the 1970s–1980s) means more potential entry points for bark scorpions and cockroaches compared to newer East Valley communities.
