Common Pests in Cooley Station

Gilbert's desert climate and proximity to undeveloped land creates year-round pest pressure for Cooley Station residents. Bark scorpions are the primary concern — they're venomous and common throughout Pinal and Maricopa counties. Regular professional treatment is the most reliable way to keep your home protected.

Local Pest Facts

• Cooley Station was developed on former agricultural land in north Gilbert — construction disturbed bark scorpion and termite colonies in the soil, and new residents frequently report scorpion activity in the first 1–2 years after move-in.
• The community's mixed-use development with restaurants, retail, and residential creates more food waste and organic material than purely residential neighborhoods, which can attract cockroaches and ants.
• Cooley Station's newer construction means homes are generally well-sealed, but bark scorpions can still enter through gaps around plumbing, HVAC penetrations, and garage door seals.
